Interpreter development sessions are designed for interpreters who value learning that’s practical, engaging, and built to last. We create space to think, try, reflect, and grow, building actual skills, not just clocking training hours.
Based on educational frameworks and guided by experience, each session uses outcomes-based, active learning methods that equip participants to apply insights to their professional practice right away.

Meta Interpreting: Ethics and Decision Making
In this workshop interpreters will be challenged to reframe ethical decision making within a framework of values, morals, and ethical principles and will explore how each of these distinct concepts converge at moments requiring professional decision making and discretion. After construction, we will collaboratively utilize this framework to evaluate internal decision making processes, and create arguments in defense of professional decisions.

Deliberately Practicing English to ASL
In this workshop interpreters will build schema of common ASL linguistic features and techniques used by Deaf interpreters in English to ASL translation, use this schema to analyze English to ASL interpretations, and synthesize their analysis into a deliberately practiced interpretation from English to ASL.
